LightUp Lanka hosts specialized Human Rights in Business and Responsible Business Conduct (BRIDGE) Tool-Piloting Workshops in northern districts including Vavuniya and Kilinochchi. The initiative brings micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), human rights defenders and local administrative officials into practical dialogue on labour dignity, accountability and ethical business practices.
In Vavuniya District (17 April 2026), 39 participants representing SMEs, MSMEs, human rights defenders and the Civil Society Organizations Forum (CSOF) Vavuniya took part in the tool-piloting session facilitated by Ms. Dinoja Navarathnarajah, Ms. Subha Kajan and Mr.
Thangesh, with active participation from the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA), Small Enterprises Development Department (SED), Manpower Department and Industrial Development Board (IDB).
A parallel district workshop in Kilinochchi District (June 2026) expanded this multi-stakeholder engagement alongside CSOF Kilinochchi. Both workshops are jointly implemented with Chrysalis with funding from the European Union in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
