LightUp Lanka coordinates free, fully resourced vocational and skill-building workshops for women, school students and local youth in Kilinochchi, helping participants develop practical capabilities and explore self-sustaining micro-enterprises.
Beginning with our foundational Language & Skill Development Workshops at Karaichchi Pradeshiya Sabha in June and July 2023—led by specialized educators in phonetic English, personality development and communication—the programme has grown to include hands-on livelihood craft training.
Our Free Crochet Handcraft Workshops in Kilinochchi (including the August 2026 workshop at Vanniyan Restaurant, Kilinochchi) train beginners in making crochet dresses and flowers, with raw materials provided free of charge so women and young people can practise their craft and build home-based livelihood opportunities alongside Chrysalis and European Union support.
